January Home Price Report – S&P Case Shiller Index

Dec bell curveSan Diego home prices continue a steady climb.  For 5 consecutive months, home prices increased year-over-year.  This month they have gone up 8% from last year. Prices have been moving up month-over-month for the past 10 consecutive months.  Both stats an improvement from the previous month’s data.

According to the monthly S&P Case Shiller Composite Index for San Diego, home prices are trending up based on data from November 2012 (yes those are the latest numbers).  The report is released on the last Tuesday of every month and has a 2 month lag.  Therefore, the most recent stats reflect November 2012 with December numbers coming out at the end of Februrary 2013.
